In Hospitality we all made our own pizzas with our own ingredients, after handing in a food order with a list of all of the ingredients we wanted. The meal needed to be a balanced meal, so I made a prawn pizza with ricotta cheese and lots of herbs and vegetables.
I began making my pizza by spreading tomato paste evenly around the base, and then by adding the ricotta cheese, as it is a lighter cheese, and healthier than if I used mozzarella. Then in a separate bowl I prepared the prawns, where I placed the prawns, and then added crushed garlic, chilli flakes, and some parsley. After combining these all together, I added the praws onto the pizza, and started on preparing all of the other ingredients that I wanted to put on my pizza to make it a balanced meal.
I cut a quarter of a tomato into thin slices, and placed them evenly around the pizza. I then finely chopped up some parsley to put on the pizza and scattered some more chilli flakes so that it had a nice bitey taste. After doing this I added a bit of mozzarella cheese to keep all of the ingredients together. Once I put it in the oven, I cleaned up the bench along with everyone else in the bench, although after 15 minutes I checked my pizza hoping it would be ready, but they had barely cooked! Since the people on the other side of the bench had finished, I used their oven to put my pizza in and cook it. Even though it went into the next lesson, I ended up getting my pizza cooked, and I had been hoping to add some rocket leaves and some thyme on the top, although Georgia accidentally threw them out, so therefore I wasnt able to make my presentation look as good as I hoped.
The pizza ended up tasting delicious and I will definitely make it again in the future!
