Making Macaroni Cheese

Today in Hospitality & Services, I was partnered with Georgia, and we made a delicious macaroni and cheese meal.
Once we had collected all of the ingredients, and turned on the stove, I began to make the white sauce while Georgia kept an eye on the macaroni pasta that was being cooked in water on the stove. While I was making the white sauce, I melted the butter, and then poured in the flour and continued to mix. Although I forgot to hold the pan off the stove so within seconds, the sauce had turned brown and gluggy. Therefore Georgia and I tipped out the 'brown' sauce and started again, and this time, the white sauce turned out much better.
Once the cheese had been added to the sauce and mixed well, the pasta was ready. So we drained out the water and added the white sauce, and mixed it through. Then we evenly poured the macaroni and cheese into our containers and sprinkled on some more cheese and parsley.
The group of us in our bay were very efficient, and we were able to clean up quickly and then dig into our successful meal.
It turned out to be delicious, and I can't wait to make it again at home after what I learnt today in class. It was very enjoyable to cook today with Georgia, and increased my love of Hospitality class, and cooking.
